The GSD Department

GLOBUS is the online publication of the Global Sustainable Development Department (which lies in the School of Cross Faculty Studies) at the University of Warwick. Founded in early 2015 by staff from the School, GLOBUS was taken over by students from the Global Sustainable Development degree programme following the launch of the groundbreaking course in September 2016. Although many of our Team Members are from departments other than GSD, GLOBUS maintains strong ties with the Department, and some of our most loyal readers can be found within the faculty.

The GSD department fully supports and is very proud of the contribution GLOBUS makes to the ever growing GSD community at the University and beyond. The publication provides a unique and valuable platform for students to develop their critical voice on issues that matter to them. Working to deadlines, both individually and part of a team, undertaking research and turning it into persuasive well-informed articles, are just some of the ways in which you will enhance your academic and other soft skills through being involved.

Dr Peter Dwyer, GSD Teaching Fellow and Director of Student Experience

GLOBUS is proud to publish a number of academic pieces from students from the GSD department annually, such as outstanding pieces from third year module ‘The Energy Trilemma’, and more recently winners and runners up from the annual GSD Essay Competition, an outreach programme open to Year 12 students with an interest in sustainability.
